
As I mentioned earlier, I'd drawn a few variations on this scene and painted them in different color palettes. Here's the progression of the second version. I started to veer off into multiple strong colors -- see the purple leaf to the right of center in the middle pic, and the bright blue leaf adjacent to it. But then I decided to rein in that impulse. The colors are still rich and vibrant, but fall more within a narrower color range.
Then I tried an even more muted version -- next post, Neril No. 46.

Really love the colors, but I believe I think the "winter Negril" surpasses them. Keep on painting!
